AMBAJI HOLY PILGRIMAGE PLACE

Pilgrim place of national importance is surrounded by natural beauty. Because of memorable historic sites and handicrafts of Gujarat, it has become tourist attraction place. Ambaji is one of the Navdurga temple.

MYTHOLOGICAL BELIEF.

According to Hindu Shashtras, there are in all 51 Shaktipiths. The Shaktipith of Arasuri ma Amba is one of  them. The Ambaji Shaktipith is a center of faith for million of devotees among all Shaktipiths.

According to Devi Bhagavat, Mahisasur pleased Agnidev with his religious austerity. Therefore Agnidev gave boon that any weapon having a masculine name will not be able to kill him. Mahisasur defeated all the gods with the help of this boon. He conquered Indrasan and destroyed ashrams of Rushis. Ambitious Mahisasur plans to win Vishnulok and Kailas. Depressed gods goes to Mahadev and asked him for help. Mahadev advised Gods to worship Devishakti. Gods worshipped Devi Shakti and Devi Shakti incarnated and killed Mahisasur. The Devi was then known as " Mahisasur Mardini".

Hindu Shashtras also indicates about visit of Shri Ram and Shri Laxman during Sitaji Haran. It also indicates that Shri Nandbaba and Yashodamaiya has come to Gabbar for hair removing ceremony of Shri Krishna.
